Board of Directors

The following Advisory Board members serve as points of contact and organizers at many SoS events and activities. SoS strongly encourages all members to get involved and participate in the organization. This can mean exchanging ideas for events, helping to organize and promote those events, or simply attending and enjoying our many professional, cultural and recreational activities offered throughout the year. Patrick Gannon

President

Patrick Gannon is Director of Business Development & Marketing at Nectar Sports, a VIP corporate hospitality and sports event firm that provides high-level services to business executives and their most valued clients. A specialist in strategic communications, public relations, marketing and change management, Mr. Gannon has worked with numerous high-profile private, public and non-profit sector clients throughout his career. Before working at Nectar Sports, Mr. Gannon worked in Washington DC at Deloitte Consulting, at the public affairs firm Tomb & Associates, and at the Food Products Association (now GMA)—the largest food trade association in the nation and worldwide.

A native of Washington D.C., Mr. Gannon spent several years working and studying in Spain. He previously worked in Barcelona as a communications and public relations strategist at IESE Business School, one of the top-ranked business schools in the world.

Mr. Gannon holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from Universidad de Navarra in Spain, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. from the same university. He is a graduate of Mount St. Mary’s University and is fluent in Spanish.

Patrick is a great futbol/soccer fan and loves watching games from “La Liga.”

Diana Molineaux

Diana Molineaux is a strategic communications and media relations specialist who has significant experience working in the field of journalism.

Raised in Barcelona, Ms. Molineaux has been living and working in Washington D.C. since 1985. She currently works with the International Broadcasting Board and is a U.S. correspondent for Catalunya Musica. In addition to this, she writes a column for both El Correo Español and for Diari Avui and frequently writes for think tanks in Catalonia, where she travels periodically to give conferences on U.S. policy, life, elections, and similar issues.

Prior to coming to the U.S., Ms. Molineaux was the Bureau Chief for EFE in Germany and Chief Editor of Ser Padres, the Spanish version of the monthly magazine Parents. She began her career with La Vanguardia in Barcelona and was previously a U.S. correspondent for Catalunya Radio and Diari Avui. She holds a Masters degree in Philosophy from Universidad de Barcelona and graduated from the School of Journalism in Barcelona.

In her spare time Ms. Molineaux is heavily involved in music and is in charge of media relations for the Post Classical Ensemble, conducted by Angel Gil Ordonez.

Holly Cowan

Holly Cowan is the Account Manager for the PR Collaborative, a full-service strategic communications and marketing firm in Washington, D.C. She works on numerous cause-related campaigns for clients including the Transportation Trades Department, AFL-CIO, the Truman National Security Project, and the Yale Center for Dyslexia & Creativity. Holly brings her extensive experience in creative and informative writing, brand building and awareness, and high-impact campaign development to her work.

Prior to joining the PR Collaborative, Holly spent several years on the New York advertising scene where she worked as an Account Manager and Copywriter at Lloyd & Co, a boutique fashion advertising agency. There her clients included Express, Movado, Theory, Healing the Divide, the Surfrider Foundation, and the CFDA, among others.

Holly graduated with honors from Colgate University with a degree in English and Spanish Literature, and spent a semester studying abroad at San Pablo CEU in Madrid. In her spare time, Holly enjoys dance, yoga, and of course, reading.

Carla Goiricelaya-Massobrio

Born in Bilbao and raised in Barcelona, Carla is an attorney and member of both the New York Bar and the Barcelona Bar associations. Ms. Goiricelaya holds a Licentiate degree in law from Universidad de Barcelona, a Master’s degree in International Business Law from ESADE in Barcelona, and an LL.M. in Securities & Financial Regulation from Georgetown University Law Center. She is fluent in Spanish, English and Catalan.

In Spain, Carla worked as an associate at the law firm Roca Junyent Abogados and was an attorney in the legal department of Colonial Inmobiliaria, S.A. Currently Carla is an independent foreign attorney where she provides services to the prestigious Washington DC-based law firm Kellogg, Huber, Hansen, Todd, Evans & Figel P.L.L.C. Prior to her work there she completed a clerkship at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. In her spare time, Carla enjoys cooking and travelling.
